SIG Group Collaboration
Two subsidiaries of SIG, PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia (KSI) and PT Mitra Kiara Indonesia (MKI), collaborated on the Kalibaru 1B Terminal construction project in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The collaboration was marked by a cooperation agreement for the sale and purchase of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) carried out by KSI President Director Wahyu Nugroho and MKI Finance Director Rinold Tamrin at the MKI Narogong Plant, West Java, Thursday (12/21/2023).
GGBFS or often called slag cement from KSI will later be used by MKI to produce MaxStrength, which is environmentally friendly portland slag cement. MaxStrength is specially formulated for the ready mix and precast industry for the construction needs of mega structures such as bridge construction, flyovers, underground tunnels, skyscrapers, and ports.
In addition to raw materials for slag cement from KSI, MaxStrength which will be produced at MKI also utilizes cement supplied by PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) Narogong Factory. Clearly, MaxStreng is a combination of Ordinary Portland Cement and GGBFS, with a composition of about 50 percent each.
MaxStrength is very suitable for use in the port area because it has the advantage of being resistant to clorida and sulfate, so it is not wrong if chosen for the Tanjung Priok Kalibaru 1B Terminal project. On the other hand, the collaboration between KSI and MKI is in line with SIG vision that continues to innovate to produce environmentally friendly products. (AB)
