Achieving 91.50% as KSI's Foundation to Dominate the Domestic Market
Cilegon (21/12) December is an important month for KSI, as it marks not only the company's anniversary but also a crucial milestone. During this month, KSI has undergone several transformations aimed at dominating the domestic market. One of these transformations involves conducting a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) assessment, which will serve as KSI's regulatory framework for entering the mandatory construction component market in Indonesia. This regulation will be issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and will be incorporated into the Construction Material Resources (SDMK). SDMK will serve as KSI's capital to regain the domestic market, which has been declining due to weak domestic demand and competitor prices significantly lower than KSI's selling prices. Therefore, achieving a significant TKDN can be an opportunity for KSI to recapture the domestic market.
These transformations are not possible without the support and involvement of stakeholders, including the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Surveyor Agency, represented by Sucofindo. Bambang Tridoso Oktanto, the President Director, stated that the presence of millennials in KSI has ignited the passion within the organization, as 90% of its workforce consists of millennials. He emphasized that this transformation is a tangible commitment by KSI's management to achieve its targets in 2021.
"For now, alhamdulillah, we have obtained a satisfactory result from the TKDN assessment, which is 91.50%, because nearly all components in KSI are made in Indonesia. Hopefully, this assessment result can be a transformative step for KSI to dominate the domestic market in Indonesia," said Bambang.
Warsito, the Director of the Cement, Ceramic, and Non-Metallic Mineral Processing Industry, also expressed his commitment. He stated that as an organization overseeing the industry in Indonesia, he feels embarrassed by the vast disparity between exports and the domestic market. This serves as an evaluation for the Ministry of Industry, especially the Cement Industry, to facilitate KSI as a pioneer in Slag Cement in Indonesia to contribute significantly to the country's infrastructure. Warsito will facilitate KSI to obtain regulations mandating the use of Slag Cement in Indonesia, similar to what is happening in advanced countries worldwide. These statements were made during a meeting on December 1, 2021, at PT KSI. (AB)
