Healthy and Happy with the Krakatau Steel Group: PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia Participates in Social Outreach for Communities Surrounding the Industrial Estate
Through its "Krakatau Steel Cares" (Krakatau Steel Peduli) program, the Krakatau Steel Group has once again demonstrated its commitment to community well-being by organizing an initiative titled "Healthy and Happy with the Krakatau Steel Group" Held across several locations in and around Cilegon, the event featured free health check-ups, medical treatment, eye examinations with complimentary eyewear, and the distribution of basic food supplies (sembako) for residents living near the industrial estate of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk.
As part of the broader Krakatau Steel Group family, PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia took an active role in the success of this meaningful social outreach. The initiative involved a collaborative effort among various Krakatau Steel Group subsidiaries including PT Krakatau International Port (KBS), PT Krakatau Sarana Infrastruktur (KSI), Krakatau Baja Konstruksi (KBK), Krakatau Chandra Energy (KCE), Krakatau Health Services (Bepelkes), and PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia (KRSI) with additional support from Periska KSG (the group’s women’s association) and a team of volunteers. PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia was represented at the event by its President Commissioner, Mr. Akhrom Saleh, and its Operations Director, Mr. Galih Walandi.
This synergy among the subsidiaries serves as clear evidence of the Krakatau Steel Group’s solidarity in fulfilling its comprehensive social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) mandates. The activities were carried out at several strategic locations near the company’s operations: the Jami' Baitul Khalik Mosque in Lijajar commonly known as the "Pancasila" Mosque in Tegalratu, Ciwandan; and the At-Taubah Mosque in the Ramanuju area, Citangkil, Cilegon, ensuring the initiative reached those in the community who needed it most. Through this initiative, the Krakatau Steel Group seeks to strengthen its concern for the communities surrounding its industrial area, while fostering harmonious engagement between the company and its local environment.
Free health check-ups and medical treatments are provided directly to residents who have historically faced limited access to healthcare services, while the distribution of basic food supplies and the provision of free eyeglasses serve as tangible demonstrations of care for the community's fundamental needs. This initiative also aligns with government programs mandated by Law No. 40 of 2007 concerning Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL).
As a member of the Krakatau Steel Group operating in the city of Cilegon, PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia remains consistent in its support for Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs. The "Healthy and Happy with Krakatau Steel Group" program stands as clear evidence of the company’s commitment to the principle that business achievements must be balanced with positive contributions and tangible benefits for the surrounding community.
